I'm Maria, I am thrilled you have found your way to my little virtual sketchbook! I'm a passionate multidisciplinary artist based in the UK. 

 

I have been drawing since I can remember! I have had many aspirations through my childhood from wanting to be a fashion designer to a special effects make-up artist. Yet I have always been pulled into design and storytelling and diving into fun and whimsical worlds. I pour my heart and soul into my work and strive to make all my artwork inclusive and diverse so that everyone is able to see a part of themselves in my work. I am most inspired by nature and love to include a beautiful glow in my designs - puling you into the magic of the world.

I have studied art from GCSE to a Master's degree and have explored both traditional and digital methods of art. I love using watercolours, acrylic and gouache to create scenes and depict nature. When working on my children's illustrations, I love to use a variety of different textures and brushes in Procreate and Photoshop. I have recently completed an internship at Simon and Schuster as Design Intern where I have learnt so much about book design from children's picture books, children's fiction and adult.
